They base their theory on studies in chicks that demonstrate biotin deficiency leading to fatal hypoglycemia caused by deficient biotin-dependent enzyme activity. Corroborating evidence from results of autopsies shows that biotin levels in the livers of SIDS victims are far lower than infants who died of other causes.18
